Horizon Partners NW Acquires Historic Building

Horizon Partners Northwest has acquired the 240,000-square-foot industrial complex known as the Harmon Building in the Nalley Valley area of Tacoma.

Located at 2916 South Steele Street, the historic building was constructed over 100 years ago and has housed past businesses such as Fremont Smith Harmon’s furniture distribution company and the Willamette Casket Company.

The building is currently fully leased, and according to a statement released by HPNW, the real estate development company plans to maintain those leases.

HPNW said it also plans to make upgrades to the building’s interior and exterior, including routine maintenance and other improvements that will “increase the overall functionality and enhance the character of the building.”

“This building embodies the type of work we do here at Horizon Partners,” said Mike Bartlett, the company’s founder and CEO. “This building is a piece of Tacoma’s history and is worth preserving to better position it for the next century of use.”

HPNW owns and manages approximately 400,000 square feet of commercial real estate. One of its latest development projects is Brewery Blocks Tacoma, a mixed-use construction covering two blocks of downtown Tacoma.
